After 3 years of planning and a $2 million National Science Foundation Grant Chabot brought the Dragon Skies: Astronomical Instrument of Imperial China to the US for a 6 city tour.

The project was initiated by former Chabot Director Reynolds, who joined us opening night. The original idea was suggested by the late UCB Chancellor Tien.

Seismic Urn Donated Chabot's Permanent Collection

This water urn which helped measure the direction and size of the earthquakes was donated by our office and will become part of the permanent Chabot collection.

Laurel Elementary Students Visit Dragon Skies

Members of the Chinese Chamber and service organizations raised funds to bring 1000 low income students to Dragon Skies.

Jean Cuts the Ribbon on the Oakmore Stairs

Joined by Public Works Director Raul Godinez, Oakmore Association Board Member Virginia Lew, and former Council member Spees. The public stairs throughout the city are important for neigborhood safety and to encourage walking, this is the second major restoration completed in District 4.

The Oldest and Youngest Lead the Way

Nearly 50 neighbors led by the oldest and youngest try out the new stairs.
